As we know, Jakarta is our beloved capital city. It saved a lot our country’s history. It becomes the place where the central government, central station and the center of the famous people are.
But nowadays we often heard that the capital city will move to other
region. In Irawaty Wardany’s article, “Jakarta no longer appropriate as
capital”, said that the ideal region was somewhere in Kalimantan.
We never realized that Jakarta has many problems which need to solve. But now, we can see how Jakarta is. Maybe the right option is by move the capital city. The capital city should be moved from Jakarta because it is overpopulated, it has heavy traffic congestion and it is so polluted that can invite the health problem.

Jakarta is overpopulated that people are beginning to think it has reached saturation point. The capitals somehow always become the center of urbanization. Many people move to Jakarta to find job, hope to get better life. It is like lifestyle to live in capital city. But as more people moved to there, it will make Jakarta more overload.
From Irawaty Wardany’s article, we know that the number of population
can reach more than 12 million. From year to year people who want to
live in Jakarta are increasing. With a population density like this will hinder the development process in Jakarta and make it more doubtful as a good capital.
The
other reason why the capital city must be move from Jakarta is because
it has heavy traffic congestion. Traffic is so bad that car journeys of a
few kilometers can take a couple of hours. People are routinely late
for meetings. Business lunches are rare. Recently a highway collapsed,
causing an epic snarl-up. In
Jakarta there are 250 cars per 1,000 people, but the real problem is
that people use their cars too often in one day because of the
shortcomings of the transit system so it is no doubt if there is long
traffic jam. In Irawaty Wardany’s article, said that a study has found
that Jakarta will be totally grid-locked by 2014 because the number of
vehicles has surpassed the city’s population. So, with all traffic jam
problems, Jakarta is considered unable to carry the status as the
capital of Indonesia.
Beside that Jakarta is also too polluted giving rise to several health problems. The more people are moving to Jakarta, the more there is a slum neighborhood. It was due to lack of land to build housing for lower-class residents. Jakarta is also a clean water crisis. Generally people take groundwater, because the state was unable to provide clean water through Drinking Water Company. Jakarta was filled with dirty air. This is especially felt in part due to the combustion exhaust of motor vehicles which are then forced through the exhaust. In addition, there is also too much waste and disposed of carelessly, so do not be surprised if Jakarta is now submerged. All this pollution causes many diseases arise and other health disorders. The list of diseases that can be extended so that come to the conclusion that Jakarta is no longer feasible to be the nation's capital.
Ultimately, because of some unresolved problems in Jakarta even abandoned, then in need of solutions that really fit. Maybe Jakarta is already not allowed to hold the title as the capital of Indonesia country, because Jakarta is overpopulated and has heavy traffic congestion and is a highly polluted city that can cause some health problems for its citizens. So, for the smooth development and progress of Indonesian state itself, the capital city and administrative center should be moved from Jakarta to the regions that have the potential to become a great nation's capital.
