Bad Effect of Television

We live in the age of technology. Almost people have television in their house. Not just adult who consume this television’s programs, but the children too. In fact, almost all children owned one television in their room. We will agree that television has had big influence for the viewer. Television gives us a lot of information and entertainment. But nowadays we know that television not just give us good effect. Television causes negative impact including less quality time spent with family members, depression among constant television viewers and development of unhealthy habits.


Initially, television is harmful because children have less quality time with family members. Based on research, almost half of children in America spend long hours in front of the television screen, so they do not have a time to spend with their parents or their siblings. Television can cause lack of time for interaction between children and parents, and it is dangerous. In short, if there is no clear communication between children and parents, so many dangers that can occur, especially against their own child’s behavior.


Furthermore, television is not beneficial because it can cause depression among constant television viewers. The study showed that more time teens spent watching television the more likely they were to be depressed as adults. And we all know that depression can easily be instigated by not meeting our own ideas of perfection or upholding our own personal values. I do not like watching the news. Watch the news can make to be depression because there is so rarely anything happy on it. Therefore, the facts are clear. Depression and watching television have a direct relation to each other, no matter what the details. Certainly there are outside factors that are in =directly related to television watching and depression, but limiting the time spent watching television may limit those factors as well.


Ultimately, television leads to the development of unhealthy habits. It is clear that too often watching television can make us become a lazy-bone. When we are watching television, we can simply avoid absolutely everything that happens to be going on in our life right now, because we do not want to miss the program. Television also allows us to procrastinate, and it is unhealthy habits. It is so easy to stare blankly at the screen and not have to think anything that can make turn our brain off. As a result, if we are watching too much television, it will form a lot of bad habits without noticing the changes.


However, when television is too much consumed, it will have negative effects, such as infringement on quality family time, a state of depression among viewers, and unhealthy practices among people of all ages. To conclude, concerned viewers can solve this dilemma by moving away from the television and becoming active.
